Got the leveling blues? Are you a down on your luck dwarf, just looking for a good pint and a quick route to 80? Brian Kopp’s got you covered then – offering what was long considered one of the largest and most complete Warcraft leveling guides for Alliance characters in the game. Today, the guide has a lot of competition though – from Warcraft leveling guides that offer more content from both factions and great big in-game mods. So, can Brian Kopp’s classic guide hold up to the current scrutiny? Let’s take a closer look:
Brian Kopp’s Warcraft leveling guide hit the market a few years ago, back before anyone had even started thinking about putting mods in the game. So, as you can guess, the vast majority of the guide was written in text, in a guide that you would either have to print out or ALT-TAB your way through. For that reason, the guide has a lot of hand written details about where to go and what to do. And while it’s not the best organized guide in the world, it has a ton of details. There is a reason this was one of the best World of Warcraft guides on the market for the better part of three years.
To top things off, Brian Kopp was not content to just let his guide wallow in obscurity. He has added an in-game leveling mod that currently allows you to quickly speed through steps in the game, without having to flip back to a print copy. The steps have been cleaned up as a result and are quick and easy to sort through.
The Brian Kopp Leveling Experience
As I mentioned, this is only for Alliance characters, but for that reason, it is probably one of the best tuned Warcraft leveling guides out there for those characters. Brian has had a ton of time to go through his routes and to weed out any unnecessary time expenditure. He’s got his times down to miniscule sub-7 day routes up to 80 and the in-game leveling mod makes it all even faster.

When you turn the leveling mod on, in the game, you’ll notice that you can shrink it down to any size you want – using the full text of the guide in a 2×3 window or cutting it down to just your current step, docking it to the minimap (which is very easy to do). You’ll also find that you can make the background transparent to more easily integrate it into your UI and it all comes with a great big arrow to show you where you’re going as you level.
The steps themselves are top notch as well. The 1-60 route is obviously the finest tuned as Kopp’s route has been around longer than anyone else’s and has been updated constantly since inception. But, the rest of the guide gets equal attention, making it a quick and easy means of hitting 70.
Brian’s members section makes it easy to distribute your new updates and also provides a bevy of fun other features, such as member updated talent guides (for all 10 classes). The mod is also completely compatible for MAC users and he lists everything that’s been updated with each release, making it easy to know what you’ll need to change.
Brian Kopp Warcraft Guide Review – The Bottom Line
While I could have done for a few bonuses with this purchase, I was happy to see that Brian Kopp included everything in the same package. Unlike Joana, who sells his guides separately, Brian gives you everything you need to hit Level 80 as an alliance character in one complete package. And this guy knows the Alliance and the classes of the game better than anyone I’ve ever seen – this is top notch stuff that has proven absolutely vital in knocking out the best times on the Internet over and over again throughout the years.
Anyone interested in getting to Level 80 as fast as possible without any fluff in their guides and with constant updates needs to check out Brian Kopp’s guide. This thing is written with the deft hand of a master WoW player and frankly, I don’t think you’ll find a faster route up to Level 80 for any class in any faction.
